Alaska is one of the most untouched, most incredible states you can find.      From mountains to glaciers to an abundance of wildlife, adventure is found wherever you go.

A fifth of the state is covered in glaciers, with over 100,000 of them around.     Add to that some of the highest mountain peaks in the U.S., over three million lakes, and three thousand rivers, and you've got a state with endless activities for the outdoor enthusiast

You'll find some of the best seafood in the world there, and if you want to catch it yourself? It's easy as pie

Just sign up with one of the local fishermen and before you know it, you'll be knee-deep in the ocean with a massive salmon at the end of your fishing rod.     No joke, the salmon are huge.

And delicious, fry one up or eat it raw and you'll see why Alaskan salmon are so prized by fish lovers.

There's the opportunity to see glaciers in person, go whale watching off the coast, and see bears fishing along the river.      Katmai National Park and Preserve is one of the best spots to watch bears catch a midday snack - it's an experience you'll never forget.

Hop on a dog sledding tour for another once-in-a-lifetime adventure, and to keep the amazing experiences going, check out the Mendenhall Ice Caves in Juneau.

Alaska is a place where you can be truly alone - nothing but you and nature.      If you've never experienced solitude in the outdoors, there's no better place to do so.       Grab a kayak and head to one of the millions of lakes to see for yourself.

You'll have a ton of time to explore Alaska if you visit during the summer, when the sun is almost always shining.       If you're a night owl, then this is the place for you: the sun sets around midnight, then rises again around 3 am.

If you prefer the dark, you'll want to visit during the winter months, where instead of nearly 'round the clock sunshine, darkness prevails.       There is little to no sun this time of year, with the sun rising around 10 am and then setting again around 3 pm.

Whatever you prefer, Alaska has something for everyone.
